  • FACT FINDINGS
    Updated On: May 09, 2021

    FACT FINDING PROCESS:

If you are the subject of an investigation/ fact finding helpful hints you should know.

Your supervisor will provide you with a synopsis of questions/allegations in which you have 2-3 days to respond. If you require addtional time to respond you may request it by sending your supervisor an email requesting the additional time. Always sign reciept for the fact finding

AFGE does not need to be present at this point.

**In some instances, depending on the allegations you may be moved to a different service or your duties may change.**

Attention:  Once you have completed your response, please provide a copy to the union to review before you turn in to your supervisor. Once the union has reviewed it, we will either tell you to submit it without changes or request that you make changes and then submit.

Once you have turned in your reviewed response by AFGE to management the process slows down. It may take anywhere from 3 weeks to 6 months (in some cases a year) to find out the status. AFGE is working with management in providing what we feel how long reasonable fact finding results should take.

**IMPORTANT NOTE** We know being under investigation brings alot of anxiety and frustration but understand AFGE can not move forward with your case until a proposed action (admonishment, repimand, suspension, removal) has been provided by management. Once an action has been provided only then can we start the grievance process and move forward.

If you have any further questions, please contact the union office at 561-422-6950.

    In Solidarity
