Good Afternoon Nursing Members-

AFGE has been informed some nursing employees have recieved a memo of change of duty assignment based on the surge and the operational needs of the Medical Center.  Please be advised the following should happen before you are assigned to acute care. You must attend the nursing skills fair designed to re-orient you to skills you have not exercised in a while. IF you feel more training is needed please ask for additional training. We want you to feel comfortable and confident in an area which may be new to you. AFGE has been assured by nursing that any nurse who feels uncomfortable in this new endeavor will be shadowed by an acute care nurse peer until you feel that you are comfortable in carrying out the needs of the service. IF you feel overwhelmed, pressured or unsure please let nursing leadership know and contact AFGE for further assistance or intervention.
